Don't Miss BEYOND RECALL - February 20th
An Evening of Comedy to Fight the Recall
An event that promises to be as entertaining as it will be effective is scheduled for Friday, the 20th of February at the Bayside Grange. "Beyond Recall", an evening of comedy and dance in support of the Friends of Paul Gallegos, will bring together a number of the funniest people in Humboldt County to take on some of pressing political and social questions of our place and time.
A sumptuous dinner will precede the show and an opportunity to dance to the world-class music of Ruben Diaz and Friends will follow.
Dell 'Arte's original and brilliant performing directors Joan Schirle, Donald Forrest, and Michael Fields will all take part as well as three of the four
hilarious Los Payasos Mendigos, David Ferney, Cosmo Kuzmick and Rudy Galindo.
Human Nature's wild and irreverent perspective will be represented by Jane Lapiner and David Simpson, and Suza Lambert with help from a group of shameless friends will help puncture a plethora of overblown balloons.
Live and silent auctions will take place at various points in the festivities. Local artists have been among the most generous of donors in the opposition to the recall and have continued to sacrifice much efforts and talent seen in a number of the first rate pieces that will be auctioned. Other gifts and treasures will also be offered.
Dinner, featuring crab and other locally produced food and drink, will begin at 6:00 along with bluegrass music. Paul Gallegos will speak at 7:30. The comedy show starts at 8:00 and Ruben Diaz and Friends will play from 10:00 to Midnight. Tickets will be available at the door. Dinner is $15. Admission for the show and dance is $10 to $50, sliding scale.
For more information call the Friends of Paul Gallegos at 444-6220.
