A well earned Celebration with food, music and laughter for the Friends of Paul Gallegos. Bring your sweetie and mark your date book now! Friday, April 30th 5:30 pm till 1 am. We're going to River Lodge in Fortuna, a world-class place with local charm.
DEMOCRACY ROCKS ON! will be The Party of the year! We honor your incredible hard work as Gallegos Volunteers, and we savor the joyous fruits of our victory. We've booked Humboldt County's premier event facility, the River Lodge*on the East bank of the mighty Eel, near friendly Fortuna, the center of the Humboldt Nation.
Yes, we do have a serious debt. We do need to pay it off. So, if you want to help with that too, come early! Paul and Joan Gallegos host a gourmet dinner catered by Avalon Restaurant, and served from 6 pm-8:30 pm to the sounds of Eileen Hemphill-Haley and the NPA JAZZ Ensemble, just $25.00 at the door!
Join the party after dinner and there is NO CHARGE!...of course, donations will always be welcome.
Sample Ramone's desserts and keep cozy at sunset around the giant bonfire. Strut your good stuff to the fabulous dance band, SWING SHIFT. Snatch a deal by 9 pm, when we conclude live and silent auctions featuring hundreds of treasures, near and far.
Then, we get serious.
Kick it all the way to the wee one in front of the NON PROPHETS, a great home-grown rock band, breaking only for breath, comedy and nectar of the gods.
Meet your friends halfway at the county's midpoint and enjoy the finest of our proud Humboldt wines and brews to your heart's content. We have arranged a walking distance sweetheart deal with Best Western (725-6822) and the Holiday Inn Express, 725-5500. Just tell them you're a friend of Paul's.
Car pool if you can, or better yet, ring 441-4981 to reserve your spot for the journey South from Arcata on the Biodiesel Bus from the Road Show Tour (there is room for 25 comfortably). This shuttle will be available on a sliding scale basis.
